One Day Workshop: Wellbeing, Flourishing and the Life We Are Given

Hosted by: The Revd. Dr. Gillian Straine (GoHealth CEO)

A day to pause, breathe and rediscover what helps us flourish

In the midst of busy lives, caring responsibilities, ministry and the many demands placed upon us, it can be easy to keep going without stopping to ask a deeper question: how are we actually doing, and what kind of life are we being invited to live?

This one-day workshop from GoHealth offers space to step away from the pressures of everyday life and consider wellbeing through the lens of Christian faith. Drawing on theology, psychology, neuroscience and real-life experience, we will explore what it means not simply to avoid burnout, but to become people who are able to flourish - body, mind, heart, relationships and spirit.

Together we will reflect on the rhythms of our lives: what gives life, what drains us, what we are carrying, and where our priorities may have become misaligned. We will consider the gift of presence - to God, to ourselves, to others and to the life that is actually in front of us.

There will be time to think, to listen, to pray and to notice. This is not a day about adding another set of practices or responsibilities to an already-full life. Rather, it is an invitation to make some space, to step back from the hurry and to consider what might help us live more deeply and sustainably.

Rooted in the Christian understanding that our bodies, relationships, work, rest and spiritual lives are all part of our response to God's gift of life, the day will offer both theological reflection and practical wisdom for the realities of everyday living.

Come for a day away from the usual demands.
Come to breathe.
Come to notice.
Come to ask what really matters.
And come to consider how we might live with greater freedom, presence and joy - not simply surviving the demands of life, but discovering what it means to flourish in the life God has given us.
