Praying with Icon Day: Cari Bridgen
This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time and pray with the famous Icon of the Samaritan Woman at the Well, loaned to the Kairos Centre by the Retreat Association.
This day will include an opportunity for Ignatian guided prayer and a gentle, creative response to the Icon using art materials in peaceful and serene surroundings. No experience required. A delicious two course lunch will be served as well as refreshments throughout the day.
Cari has been an Art Psychotherapist for 20 years and an Ignatian Spiritual Director for 9 years. She is interested in the interweaving of Spirituality with Psychology and Creativity. She also has a deep interest in those who have experienced spiritual abuse. Cari has recently chosen to concentrate more on her own art practice and work with natural pigments from nature, gold leaf and stained glass. Cari has had training in making Icons and finds making these very contemplative in relation to a biblical subject or story. She made her own version of the Woman At The Well as a commission for a church. She also started training with the Carmelites at Boars Hill in Oxford as CPD.
Cari writes:- ‘It would be a pleasure to explore this Icon with you and contribute some ideas about how to think about it and use it in prayer.’
Cost :- £35.00 (lunch, refreshments and art materials included)
