    CARM Textile Retreat

    The Kairos Centre

led by Romola Parish & Sheila Coughtrey

This “Kit Sheet’ provides some guidance on the creative side of a fabric arts/textile retreats. A major emphasis is on experimenting with new techniques, ideas and ways of approaching the work, bringing what individuals have, however much or little, and sharing materials, ideas, fellowship and prayer. The other emphasis is on openness of mind - it doesn’t matter how experienced or inexperienced anyone is on a retreat, if they come with a willingness to explore the possibilities that a wide range of textile arts can offer in deepening their journey with God.

The days will follow the general pattern as set out on the CARM website

The chaplain and retreat leader will work together so the worship and prayer/meditation element reflects the creative themes that have been chosen. Participants will be encouraged to develop their own interpretations of the theme, with guidance and encouragement, which, we believe, allows God to work in each person individually.

CARM is Christian and ecumenical. People of any religion or none are welcome to attend. Worship during retreats is open, inclusive and rooted in Christian traditions.
