Last Day as Director

It is with a tremendous sense of pride and gratitude that I come to my last working day as Director of the Kairos Centre. I first arrived at the Kairos Centre as a volunteer and was appointed to the position of Director in July 2014. The Kairos Centre benefits from a tranquil location next to the beautiful Richmond park. It has a large building with an interesting history and wonderful spaces.

However, it is the people who work here and our visitors who bring the Kairos Centre to life. I have been fortunate to work with a wonderful team of sisters and paid staff. A frequent comment from our guests, is that no matter the role or the person, nothing is too much trouble for any of the team and everything is done with a smile on their face.

We are privileged to welcome individuals and groups from our local community and every continent. People of all faiths and none, who are committed in some way to the service of others.

I have admired the care and concern for each others well-being that I witness among all the members of the SMG Congregation. I can only presume they have been blessed with good leadership throughout their years and not least from their founder, Mother Magdalen Taylor, Servant of God.

I am truly sad to be moving on from Kairos and the SMG Community, and thankful for the opportunity, experience, support and love shown to me. I move on to a new and exciting opportunity in the rural north east of England.
