The Kairos Centre - An Urban Oasis

The Kairos Centre is a tranquil retreat centre owned and administered by the Catholic Congregation and charity The Poor Servants of the Mother of God.

We welcome all who need to find a place of quiet, peace, harmony and hospitality. A place to pray, a place to think, a place to meet.

The Congregation was founded in 1869 by Frances Taylor. Frances took the name Mother Magdalen and the first Sisters responded to the needs of the time, working with the most vulnerable, especially women and children, and recognising the dignity and worth of each person.
During the past century the work has changed and the Sisters have responded to new situations which have arisen but their work is still carried out in the same spirit and according to the same values espoused by the Foundress.

We welcome individuals and organisations and work in collaboration with members of other Christian denominations as well as other faith groups.
